DESCRIPTION:Lace up and join us for the 17th Annual Run for Their Lives 5K on September 19\, 2026! This timed charity fun run features an approximately 3-mile course through the beautiful\, tree-lined streets of North Park in northern Allegheny County\, just north of Pittsburgh\, PA. Your participation helps raise awareness of bleeding disorders and supports essential education and advocacy programs. \nOnline run registration will close at 6:00 PM on Friday\, September 18. In-person registration will begin at 7:30 AM on Saturday\, September 6!  \nDate: Saturday\, September 19\, 2026 \nLocation: North Park Swimming Pool Loop\, 303 Pearce Mill Rd\, Allison Park\, PA 15101 \nTime: Registration begins at 7:30 AM\, Race begins at 8:30 AM \nDistance: 5K (Approximately 3-mile course) \nEach participant will receive a technical race t-shirt (if registered by July 31\, 2026)\, goody bag\, and medal. The final day to ensure a shirt in your size is Friday\, July 31. \nThe registration fee schedule is as follows: \nEarly Bird Pricing – $25 now through May 31\, 2026 \nPre-Race Registration – $30 from June 1 – September 18\, 2026 \nRace Day Fee – $35 \nVirtual Run for Their Lives 5K \nOur hybrid run gives you the choice to join us in-person on September 19 in North Park or be a virtual runner and run one of your favorite courses! DESCRIPTION:Clinical research has played a vital role in advancing the treatment of bleeding disorders\, leading to safer\, more effective therapies and improved quality of life for individuals and families. This educational session will provide an overview of the clinical research process and help participants better understand what it means to take part in a research study. \nWe’ll cover key research terms as well as the different types and phases of clinical research. Participants will also learn why clinical studies are important\, how they contribute to future treatment advances\, and what protections are in place for research participants. \nThe session\, presented by Dana Ivanco\, CCRC\, Sr. Clinical Research Coordinator\, from the Hemophilia Center of Western PA\, will conclude with an overview of current and emerging clinical studies involving people with bleeding disorders\, providing insight into the ongoing research shaping the future of care. \nMeals: A buffet lunch will be served immediately following the program. A child’s meal will be reserved for children aged 12 and under. (If you’d like to request an exception\, please notify us when you register.) \nTransportation: Transportation assistance\, in the form of a gas card\, is available upon request. \nChildcare: Onsite childcare will be provided during the educational program. \nEnjoy the rest of the day at Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park!
