DESCRIPTION:The Western Pennsylvania Bleeding Disorders Foundation invites you to participate in a special activity for Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month! We are asking our members and families to paint a 4” x 4” mini canvas to go along with World Hemophilia Day’s theme – Access for All: Women and girls bleed too! This collage will hang in the Foundation office! \nWe will start shipping the canvas squares on March 1. A stamped addressed return envelope will be included. Please send your decorated canvas back to the Foundation by Friday\, April 11\, 2025. Our goal is to showcase the completed project on World Hemophilia Day\, April 17\, 2025. \nAll the canvas squares will be shared on social media on April 14. Community members are encouraged to vote on their favorite ones! The canvas with the most votes will win four reserved seats to a 2025 Washington Wild Things game! \nRSVP: This project is open to all members of WPBDF. Supplies will be sent to those who register. DESCRIPTION:We are looking for individuals who are interested in supporting the advocacy efforts of the Pennsylvania Bleeding Disorders Foundations throughout the year. Do you have a desire to meet with legislators to help influence decisions on policies that affect individuals and families living with bleeding disorders? \nIf you answered yes\, we would like you to join us in Harrisburg\, on Monday\, May 6 and Tuesday\, May 7\, 2024! \nOn Monday\, May 6\, you will receive training to become a Volunteer Advocacy Ambassador and learn about the issues we will be discussing with legislators the following day. \nOn Tuesday\, May 7\, we will head to the capitol to meet with legislators to advocate for the needs of the bleeding disorders community. Each advocate will be teamed up with other advocates to attend meetings in small groups. \nIf you have any questions\, call 724-741-6160 or send an email to info@wpbdf.org. \nThis training is open to individuals 18 years and older and mature adolescents and teens. No childcare will be provided at this event. \nThis is an overnight training and advocacy day. Training begins at 3 pm on Monday\, May 6. All operations of the Governor’s Office and General Assembly will continue\, but access to the Capitol Complex will be limited to employees and people with badge keycard credentials. \n“Our top priority is the health and safety of the public\,” DGS Secretary Curt Topper said. “This protective measure to limit social distances is being made in consultation with the Department of Health and is in keeping with the CDC’s guidelines.
