Whether you’re a seasoned runner\, a virtual event first-timer\, or excited to support the bleeding disorders community of Western PA – this is one virtual event we know you’ll love. From the ease of your own treadmill to your local trail\, the Run for Your Lives Virtual 5K takes place anywhere you’d like\, whenever you’d like. Cost to participate is $20 and includes a digital race bib and finishers certificate. Runners can add a race medal for $5 and an event shirt for $10. Items will be mailed out the week of September 7th. Register by August 14th to qualify for a race medal or shirt. \nWPCNHF strives to enrich the lives of those with bleeding disorders in Western Pennsylvania and respond to the needs of the community in a dynamic environment. WPCNHF serves families with bleeding disorders in 26 counties of Western Pennsylvania. Membership is free for people with bleeding disorders. We provide patient assistance to our members with bleeding disorders as well as hold a variety of educational events that cover a wide range of topics. Because bleeding disorders impact nearly every area of our members’ lives\, we strive to provide relevant and timely information about everything from raising affected children to dealing with financial stress to joint health and treatment concerns and much more. \nAll proceeds raised from the Run for Their Lives 5K will support out emergency patient assistance fund\, life-saving education\, and critical advocacy training. \n  \nRegistration: Click here to register! \n

We will also need volunteers to help transport auction items from the Chapter Office to the Cornerstone at Tonidale and help set up on November 15th\, as well as event day volunteers on November 16th.\n2.) Donate – Donations of artificial trees and wreaths\, holiday decor\, gift cards\, raffle basket items\, and monetary donations are needed.\n3.) Zoe saw that as a challenge\, and she asked if she could raise money for hemophilia research. \nZoe explains in the opening letter of the calendar\, this year’s theme of “What Makes a Hero” is a little different than “Things we Love\,” thanks to Max’s newfound super hero status. \nThis year the calendar has a different theme: “What Makes a Hero.” We chose it because of what happened with Max. He was in Marvel’s Invincible Iron Man comic book\, and we were invited to two amazing hemophilia conferences – HFA in Las Vegas and NHF in Orlando – after appearing on NBC Nightly News and CBS 3 in Philly when our great friends (and fellow photographers) helped us raise thousands of dollars for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. \nSo\, what makes a hero? A hero has many traits\, and we decided to have them make up every month in our calendar. These traits can be in all of us. DESCRIPTION:The 8th Annual Western Pennsylvania Hemophilia Walk will take place at the Boat House in North Park on Sept 17th\, 2016 at 10:00 am with registration starting at 9:00am. Please visit our Hemophilia Walk page to register and donate. We would like to thank all of our supporters for making this event such a huge success. Your fundraising efforts make it possible to provide educational programs\, advocacy\, and patient support to families and individuals with bleeding disorders in 26 counties of Western Pennsylvania. Every dollar makes a difference! \nContribute to the cause by Walking and Fundraising with your friends\, family\, co-workers\, neighbors and even your dogs. Register a Team that raises an average of $25 or more per team member and your team can design its own Team T-shirt at no cost to you! The t-shirts will be entered into a contest where participants can vote on their favorite shirt by putting money into the corresponding jar. The winner of the Team T-shirt design contest will be displayed at the Hemophilia Center of Western Pennsylvania for one year. \nThis community event will include raffles\, gift baskets\, free treats\, water and entertainment for all ages. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in this fun filled day in beautiful North Park. \nFall weather in Western Pennsylvania can be unpredictable but the highs are mostly in the 60’s or 70’s and lows in the 30’s and 40’s. \nWPCNHF will also hold the 7th Annual Run For Their Lives 5K the same day!
