DESCRIPTION:The Western PA Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation is selling Hearts 4 Hemophilia Calendars!  The calendars are $20 a piece and can be purchased at the bottom of this page! When you purchase the calendars on this webpage all the proceeds stay local to benefit the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation.  This year’s calendar features photos from more than 25 kids\, ages 2-11! \nThe Hearts 4 Hemophilia calendar is a project borne out of the mind of Max’s (read about Iron Max here) sister Zoe\, who read a story in Highlights magazine the summer before third grade in which a girl raised thousands of dollars for cancer research. Zoe saw that as a challenge\, and she asked if she could raise money for hemophilia research. \nZoe explains in the opening letter of the calendar\, this year’s theme of “What Makes a Hero” is a little different than “Things we Love\,” thanks to Max’s newfound super hero status. \nThis year the calendar has a different theme: “What Makes a Hero.” We chose it because of what happened with Max. He was in Marvel’s Invincible Iron Man comic book\, and we were invited to two amazing hemophilia conferences – HFA in Las Vegas and NHF in Orlando – after appearing on NBC Nightly News and CBS 3 in Philly when our great friends (and fellow photographers) helped us raise thousands of dollars for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. \nSo\, what makes a hero? A hero has many traits\, and we decided to have them make up every month in our calendar. These traits can be in all of us. DESCRIPTION:The 8th Annual Western Pennsylvania Hemophilia Walk will take place at the Boat House in North Park on Sept 17th\, 2016 at 10:00 am with registration starting at 9:00am. Your fundraising efforts make it possible to provide educational programs\, advocacy\, and patient support to families and individuals with bleeding disorders in 26 counties of Western Pennsylvania. Every dollar makes a difference! \nContribute to the cause by Walking and Fundraising with your friends\, family\, co-workers\, neighbors and even your dogs. Register a Team that raises an average of $25 or more per team member and your team can design its own Team T-shirt at no cost to you! The t-shirts will be entered into a contest where participants can vote on their favorite shirt by putting money into the corresponding jar. The winner of the Team T-shirt design contest will be displayed at the Hemophilia Center of Western Pennsylvania for one year. \nThis community event will include raffles\, gift baskets\, free treats\, water and entertainment for all ages. DESCRIPTION:WHAT:  The Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation’s 6th Annual Take A Bough: Holiday Auction to Benefit the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation (WPCNHF). This 4-day Christmas Tree and Holiday Décor Auction will showcase decorated trees\, wreaths\, and tabletop centerpieces that are all available for bid.  Auctioned items will be draped with gift cards\, travel packages and other donated items of value. We will walk to raise critical funds and awareness for the bleeding disorder community. Your support is greatly appreciated. \nContribute to the cause by Walking and Fundraising with your friends\, family\, co-workers\, neighbors and even your dogs. Register a Team that raises an average of $25 or more per team member and your team can design its own Team T-shirt! The winner of the Team T-shirt design contest will be displayed at the Hemophilia Center of Western Pennsylvania for one year. \nThis community event will include a DJ\, photo booth\, face painter\, balloon artist\, raffles\, gift baskets\, free treats\, water\, and entertainment for all ages. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in this fun filled day in beautiful North Park.

They are often unable to run for themselves because they suffer from complications of their disease.
