SUMMARY:Stay In Motion Education Weekend
DESCRIPTION:Stay In Motion Weekend is designed to educate and empower individuals and families living with bleeding disorders to embrace movement\, stay active\, and build habits that support joint health\, strength\, and overall well-being. Safe\, consistent activity is one of the most effective ways for individuals with bleeding disorders to protect their joints\, reduce stiffness\, improve mobility\, and support long-term physical and mental health. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in safe activities—such as a hike\, strength training with resistance bands\, and tai chi—according to their own abilities. Educational sessions will cover topics such as exercise and brain chemistry\, building healthy habits\, and eating healthy on a budget. \nStay In Motion Weekend Includes:\n\nTwo Night Hotel Stay\nMeals and Snacks\nActivities for Adults & Teens\nSupervision for Children\n\nThe only cost to attend this event is a $50 non-refundable registration fee\, per family (due at the time of registration). If the $50 registration fee and/or cost of transportation would present a hardship that would prevent you from attending\, you may apply for a scholarship. \nRegistration is limited to immediate family members living in the household with the person who has a bleeding disorder. \nAgenda*:\nFriday\, June 12 – Hotel check-in begins at 4:00 pm. Registration for the Stay in Motion Education Weekend will begin at 6:00 pm with exhibit displays from our sponsors. Dinner and an overview of the weekend will follow. \nSaturday\, June 13 – Breakfast and exhibit displays will begin at 8:00 am. Childcare will be available from 8:45 am to 4:30 pm. Programming will begin at 9:00 am and will feature a half-mile hike on a level\, paved trail (accessible for individuals with limited mobility and mobility devices). There will be an option to join an additional hike on a more challenging trail! \nLunch will be at 1:00 pm and offer another opportunity to speak with our sponsors at their exhibits. The afternoon will feature educational sessions about exercise and brain chemistry\, building healthy habits\, and eating healthy on a budget. You can then choose between different activities\, like exercise with resistance bands or yoga. Dinner will be served at 6:00 pm. After dinner\, you will be free to enjoy the resort on your own. \nSunday\, June 14 – Breakfast will begin at 8:00 am. Childcare will be available from 8:45 am to 11:00 am. Together\, we will learn and practice tai chi! Adventure Passes will be distributed and we encourage you to enjoy the rest of the day at the resort on your own! This timed charity fun run features an approximately 3-mile course through the beautiful\, tree-lined streets of North Park in northern Allegheny County\, just north of Pittsburgh\, PA. Your participation helps raise awareness of bleeding disorders and supports essential education and advocacy programs. \nOnline run registration will close at 6:00 PM on Friday\, September 18. In-person registration will begin at 7:30 AM on Saturday\, September 6!  \nDate: Saturday\, September 19\, 2026 \nLocation: North Park Swimming Pool Loop\, 303 Pearce Mill Rd\, Allison Park\, PA 15101 \nTime: Registration begins at 7:30 AM\, Race begins at 8:30 AM \nDistance: 5K (Approximately 3-mile course) \nEach participant will receive a technical race t-shirt (if registered by July 31\, 2026)\, goody bag\, and medal.
