SUMMARY:The Joey Smiles Advocacy Ambassador Education and Training
DESCRIPTION:We are looking for individuals who are interested in supporting the advocacy efforts of the Pennsylvania Bleeding Disorders Foundations throughout the year. Do you have a desire to meet with legislators to help influence decisions on policies that affect individuals and families living with bleeding disorders? \nIf you answered yes\, we would like you to join us in Harrisburg\, on Sunday\, May 3 and Monday\, May 4\, 2026! \nOn Sunday\, May 3\, you will receive training to become a Volunteer Advocacy Ambassador and learn about the issues we will be discussing with legislators the following day. \nOn Monday\, May 4\, we will head to the capitol to meet with legislators to advocate for the needs of the bleeding disorders community. Each advocate will be teamed up with other advocates to attend meetings in small groups. \nIf you have any questions\, call 724-741-6160 or send an email to info@wpbdf.org. \nThis training is open to individuals 18 years and older and mature adolescents and teens. No childcare will be provided at this event. \nRegister Today!\nThis is an overnight training and advocacy day. Training begins at 3 pm on Sunday\, May 3. On Monday\, May 4\, we will head to the PA state capitol where you will have the opportunity to meet with your local legislators. The Foundations will provide dinner on Sunday\, a hotel room at the Harrisburg Hilton on Sunday night\, and breakfast on Monday morning. \nTransportation assistance is available upon request. \nTo register\, email rsvp@wpbdf.org to receive the registration form.
