SUMMARY:Fall Program
DESCRIPTION:Clinical research has played a vital role in advancing the treatment of bleeding disorders\, leading to safer\, more effective therapies and improved quality of life for individuals and families. This educational session will provide an overview of the clinical research process and help participants better understand what it means to take part in a research study. \nWe’ll cover key research terms as well as the different types and phases of clinical research. Participants will also learn why clinical studies are important\, how they contribute to future treatment advances\, and what protections are in place for research participants. \nThe session\, presented by Dana Ivanco\, CCRC\, Sr. Clinical Research Coordinator\, from the Hemophilia Center of Western PA\, will conclude with an overview of current and emerging clinical studies involving people with bleeding disorders\, providing insight into the ongoing research shaping the future of care. \nMeals: A buffet lunch will be served immediately following the program. A child’s meal will be reserved for children aged 12 and under. (If you’d like to request an exception\, please notify us when you register.) \nTransportation: Transportation assistance\, in the form of a gas card\, is available upon request. \nChildcare: Onsite childcare will be provided during the educational program. \nEnjoy the rest of the day at Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park! Tickets to Splash Lagoon will be handed out to those who attend the Fall Program. Tickets will be valid from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Saturday\, October 3rd. \nTo RSVP:\nThere is no cost to attend this event! To register\, send an email to rsvp@wpbdf.org or call the Foundation office at 724-741-6160 by September 18. \nPlease provide the following information: first and last name\, number of adults\, number of children and their ages\, any food allergies or dietary restrictions\, number of swimmers (people going in the water at Splash Lagoon) and number of observers (people going to the Water Park but not going in the water).
