If you are a woman with a bleeding disorder, a mother of a child with a bleeding disorder, a spouse, partner, or sister of someone with a bleeding disorder, then this group is for you!
All women of the Chapter are welcome to participate in the programs and events organized for WPCNHF Winning Women. This group was formed at the request of a woman from our chapter who desired programs and activities that would be exclusively for women and would include all women, regardless of how they are affected by a bleeding disorder. The women’s group provides opportunities to spend time with other women who have concerns and hopes that are similar to yours. Come together to learn about bleeding disorders, enjoy activities, and share stories!
Becoming a member of WPCNHF Winning Women couldn’t be easier. Any female Chapter member can just simply register to participate in an event. There are no dues required to be a member of this group!
Resources
Victory for Women
This is the National Hemophilia Foundation’s health initiative to address the critical issues faced by women with bleeding disorders. Victory for Women has two main goals: The first is to increase awareness of women’s bleeding disorders so that girls and women receive early, accurate diagnoses, leading to better health outcomes. The second is to provide women affected by bleeding disorders with the education, support, skills, and resources they need to advocate for their healthcare, financial and social support needs. To learn more, visit the Victory for Women website.
Steps for Living
The National Hemophilia Foundation’s Steps for Living website is packed with resources for people living with bleeding disorders. To learn more about bleeding disorders and/or women with bleeding disorders, visit the First Step section of the website. Although basic information about bleeding disorders is included in the First Step section (ages birth-8 years), the information is relevant for people of all ages.
