Camp Hot To Clot
Overview
WPBDF is proud to help support Camp Hot-to-Clot, which is organized by the Hemophilia Center of Western PA.
Camp Hot-to-Clot is an overnight summer camp in Western Pennsylvania for youth aged 7-17, who have a bleeding disorder or who have a sibling with a bleeding disorder, and who live in Western Pennsylvania or the surrounding area. Fun activities such as swimming, pickleball, gaga, rock wall climbing, fishing, canoeing, archery, arts & crafts, and field games are offered in a safe, nurturing environment that gives campers a chance to broaden their experiences.
Camp Facility
Camp Hot-to-Clot is held annually at the YMCA Camp Kon-O-Kwee near Zelienople, PA (approximately 30 miles north of Pittsburgh). Camp Kon-O-Kwee is located on 500 acres of fields and woodlands along Connoquenessing Creek. It is owned and operated by YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh and is accredited by the American Camp Association.
Camp Hot-to-Clot is staffed with professionals from the bleeding disorders community (including staff from the Hemophilia Center of Western Pennsylvania who specialize in nursing, physical therapy, and social work) and professional camp staff from Camp Kon-O-Kwee. Camp Hot-to-Clot staff works closely with Camp Kon-O-Kwee staff to provide a camp session that is safe, educational, and fun!
