Buildings and landmarks throughout Pittsburgh were lit red on Sunday, April 17, 2022, to celebrate World Hemophilia Day! This day is celebrated around the world each year on April 17th to bring attention to hemophilia and other bleeding disorders, which affects approximately 1 in 10,000 individuals globally (over 3,000 individuals in Pennsylvania!) Buildings across Pittsburgh, and other major cities in the US, were lit up red to help raise awareness for bleeding disorders and promote the importance of universal access to proper care and support!

In Pittsburgh, landmarks lit red included The Koppers Building, Gulf Tower, Fifth Avenue Place Spire, Heinz Hall Garden Plaza Waterfall, the Pittsburgh City-County Building, and the Homestead Gray’s Bridge.
