The Alec James Schake Memorial Scholarship is now accepting applications for high school seniors planning to pursue a college education in the 2019-2020 school year.
This scholarship was established to honor the life and legacy of Alec Schake, a wonderful young man and member of the bleeding disorders community. Alec was incredibly kind and smart and thrived on learning new things. He cared deeply about helping people and making a difference in the world. In his short life, he made a lasting, positive impact on family an friends. This scholarship is designed to support other young people as they begin their college careers and to further their educational dreams and desires to make a difference.
This is a one-time, non-renewable, scholarship of $1,500 for a high school senior who is a member of the bleeding disorder community and is engaged with the services at the Hemophilia Treatment Cent of Western Pennsylvania. Applicants must be planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary educational institution and carry a minimum 3.0 GPA.
