It Takes a Team: Caring for a Child with a Bleeding Disorder

Whether you’re brand new to bleeding disorders or have been managing care for years, this virtual education program is here to support you. Caregivers are invited to join a relaxed, informative session focused on caring for a child with a bleeding disorder in everyday life.
We know there are times when your child may be cared for by others, like grandparents, other family members,
close friends, or babysitters. This program gives those trusted caregivers a chance to learn alongside you, ask questions, and feel more comfortable and confident providing care.
This session is designed for families and informal caregivers rather than larger, formal daycare settings. If your child attends a daycare or school and additional education would be helpful, HCWP is happy to provide direct support. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Dinner is on us! After the program, families who are members of WPBDF will receive a $45 gift card to their choice of Panera Bread or Domino’s Pizza. Gift cards will be emailed after the program concludes. (We regret we are unable to provide additional gift cards for other caregivers who may be joining the program.)
Dr. Frederico Xavier, MD, Pediatric Clinical Director, Hemophilia Center of Western Pennsylvania, will present on bleeding disorder signs, symptoms, and first-aid protocol.
