It’s Thursday, and you know what that means! For #ThankfulThursday we want to say thank you to Chris. He has been a member of our chapter since he was about 18 years old. Chris and his 9-year-old daughter are both diagnosed with Hemophilia B. He made it a priority to connect with other individuals living with a bleeding disorder so he could build a strong support team. “[I wanted] to not only survive but thrive with this very rare unique lifetime genetic condition I was given,” Chris said.
Chris is a very active member within our chapter. You may have seen him at one of our many educational events or fundraisers! He volunteers much of his time advocating for the bleeding disorders community and, most importantly, his daughter. Chris joined us at NHF Washington Days this year and shared his story with our local and state legislators. He discussed the importance of federal funding for Pennsylvania’s seven Hemophilia Treatment Centers and brought attention to the Hemophilia SNF Access Act.
“I support WPCNHF because I believe in their Mission and Vision statements. I believe that they are ethical and sound in the use of their corporate dollars and they truly have a heart of gold. [The Chapter Staff] are such a pleasure to work with and I feel that they all have the best interest of the bleeding disorders community in mind every day.”
Chris is thankful that the Chapter can provide the information and education necessary to advocate for himself and his family, but we are even more thankful for your time and contributions to our community!
He added, “Maybe someday, the thoughts and prayers will be answered by a cure or permanent fix once and for all, but until that miracle happens, WPCNHF has a job to do of significate importance so I ask everyone who reads these words to commit to supporting the WPCNHF with their gift of Time, Money or Outreach thru connections that can benefit the chapter so the chapter can continue to make positive change in the lives of persons living with Bleeding Disorders For Decades to come.
